The Winchester 10km Road Race started back in 1983 as a 10-mile distance. The race adopted the popular 10km format in the late 1980's. The race will feature a 1 lap closed road route starting outside the historic Winchester Guildhall in The Broadway. The start is in front of the impressive King Alfred Statue. The route heads up St George's Street before going out towards the village of Kingsworthy. The return leg passes through the village of Headbourne Worthy and back towards Winchester before finishing at The North Walls Recreation Centre. The route is a mix of urban and countryside parkland. It's a super city centre vibe 10K with over 1500 runners making it a super atmosphere! The entry fee includes chip timing and an awesome finisher medal. *No medal option available also*"Once again, I found this Challenging Event race to be extremely well organised , before and during the event itself. Always good at starting on time with numerous marshals around the course ensuring it was safe for runners ( both in terms of vehicles and potholes). Good atmosphere along the route."
